LARGE SEA BREAM KASHIGATA (Dealer: Jinta) – Large kashigata (traditional wooden confectionery mold) carved in the form of sea bream (tai), used for making Japanese wagashi sweets. Taishō to early Shōwa period (early 20th century). Approx. 14 × 25 × 13 cm (5.5 × 9.8 × 5.1 in). Regarded in Japan as an auspicious motif associated with weddings, childbirth celebrations, and longevity festivities. Given its impressive size, those molds were likely created and used for particularly significant occasions. Rich feeling of aged surface texture by long use. Condition as shown.
