LEFT ARM OF SENJU KANNON (Dealer: titcoRet) – Wood carving left arm of ‘Senju Kannon’ (Thousand Armed Kannon (Avalokiteshwara)), from a certain ruined temple in Gifu area as its provenance. Edo period (1603-1868), Japan. approx. L 28.5cm (11.22in). Holed for holding its belongings but missing. As its former owner, signed “Kobayashi liquor store” in Indian ink at the bottom. Some peelings of ‘gofun’ (white pigment).
