STONE OWL (Dealer: hotoke) – Lovely small stone (granite) carving owl okimono, provably originally made and used for the entrance or porch of Japanese residence, because of the cultural custom based on the traditional word-play of ‘owl’ (‘fu-kuro’ in Japanese) that stands for “no-trouble”. Showa period, 20th century. approx. H 15 x 13 x 5cm (5.90 x 5.11 x 1.96in). The condition is as is as seen.
