MALE DEITY (Dealer: titcoRet) – Japanese wooden carving image of male deity with such a merciful face and ‘shaku’ (scepter) holding with the both hands, in aesthetically sooty condition due to the passing long years dated back to the Edo period (1603-1868), as a ‘Minshubutsu’ (lit. ‘Folk Buddha’) carved by an amateur as non-professional Buddhist sculptor. approx. H 24.5cm (9.64in). Attached with a white ball as seen, since it doesn’t stand on by itself. Some dusts from wormholes as is.
