Buddhist hanging scroll of woodblock print amulet of Marici   (Dealer: Sezuan antiques & art) – Japanese ‘Marishiten’ (=Marici, Buddhist god of war) shaped as a figure with three faces and six arms riding on wild boar. Meiji period. Many samurais had believed in Marishiten for its elusive and untouchable image from that Marishiten is considered as an embodiment of heat haze or sunlight. Quite an interesting image of how deity of Hindu mythology settled in Japan.
