MOMOYAMA KARATSU KINTSUGI MUKOZUKE (Dealer: misakadou) – Slightly large and quite a dynamic ‘mukozuke’ (food container for tea ceremony) of ‘E-Karatsu’ (Pictured-Karatsu ware), Momoyama period (approx.1573-1603), Japan. A genuine. “Designed” with ‘kintsugi’ (gold restorations), specifically as the art of ‘yobitsugi’ (traditional restoration method substituting the similar fragments from the same kiln for the missing pieces). Handed down excavation with such repair by the former owner(s), used well with care through the generations, so that such smoothed glamorous skin without ‘kase’ (dry and rough inborn texture by kiln-firing) as appreciated. Attached with a tasteful cedar box.
