FLAMING HALO (Dealer: Jinta) – A wooden decorative halo (kōhai) designed to be placed behind a Buddhist statue of Fudō Myōō, featuring flames that symbolize the sacred fire which burns away human desires and passions. Circa 1930s, Japan. H 80 × W 22 × D 3 cm (31.5 × 8.7 × 1.2 in). Condition as shown in the photos. Photo #8–#11 depict the reverse side.
