NAMED BANDORI (Dealer: Sezuan antiques & art) – Woven backpack cushion pad for carrying loads, called ‘bandori’ as a particular local mingei farm tool in Tohoku region, Japan. Made of straw, cotton, and waste pieces of boro textile, with its owner’s name of ‘toshi’(or ‘ri’) woven into as unusually. Meiji-Early Showa period, early 20th century. In fine antique condition, with expected stains for its age.
