OMIKUJI (Dealer: tayutafu) – Old type of Japanese ‘omikuji’ (wooden box with 94 pieces of fortune bamboo sticks with number and oracle written on) to shake and flip upside down to slip a stick out used at Shinto shrine or Buddhist temple. Meiji-Taisho period, early 20th century. From the best luck, ‘daikichi’, ‘kichi’, ‘shokichi’, ‘hankichi’, ‘suekichi’, and ‘kyo’.
