ONGI PLATE (Dealer: hotoke) – Originally a particular folk kiln-tool used as the base plate for firing pottery in Ongi kiln in the rural area in Korean peninsula, early 20th century, brought to Japan to apply it to ‘wabi’ everyday ware by superior collector (connoisseur) in the later years. Such unintentionally aesthetic natural landscape and calm presence as is, with expected inborn kiln-flaws as seen. approx. D 33cm (12.99in), H 2.0-3.7cm (0.78-1.45in)
