WEALTH AND LIFE (Dealer: hotoke) – Old Japanese humorous caricature so-called Otsu-e (ref. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Otsu-e) with its popular motif of “Sumo wrestling with Daikokuten (God of wealth) vs Jurojin (God of longevity)”. As the result of such fight, the both of wealth and life fall down together. Unusually ridiculous type of work by woodblock printing on washi paper, late 19th – early 20th century, 20.5 x 49cm (8.07 x 19.29in). Aged deterioration as is including some wormholes. *Fixed with four small magnets on the wall so that no holes at the corners. (Those magnets are not attached with this item.)
