PAIR OF FOXES (Dealer: titcoRet) – Pair of votive stone carving foxes as the messengers of Inari god, from a certain shrine in Northern Kanto region (Gunma area), Japan, Edo period, 19th century, approx. H 22.5 x 11.3 x 6.3cm (8.85 x 4.44 x 2.48in). Because of the slight different feeling of each texture, those could be not original pair?, and each might have had each own partner at the same shrine?, though never knows. Cement-repair at the mouth and the tail as is.
