PORTABLE PILLOWS (Dealer: Sezuan antiques & art) – Two pieces of ‘Ikkanbari’ papier-mache pillows as a Japanese traditional craft made with wood or bamboo framework coated in many layers of Japanese washi papers and astringent juice of the persimmon (kakishibu). Meiji period (1868-1912). Slight moth-eaten holes. Probably unused condition. Rare remains. approx. H 16cm (6.29in), D 8cm (3.14in)
