SACRED HORSE WITH PHALLUS (Dealer: titcoRet) – Wooden sculpture of sacred horse as a refined votive offering from a certain wealthy old family in Niigata prefecture, Japan, Meiji period (1868-1912), approx. H 28 x 23 x 12cm (11.02 x 9.05 x 4.72in). Its phallus stands for the pray for the prosperity of descendants. In such aged condition as is, with some stains and lacquer-peelings (*very easy to be peeled-off).
