RICE BAG WITH HEMP LEAF PATTERN (Dealer: yamanome) – Extremely rare folk handspun cotton bag with ‘asa no ha’ (stylized hemp leaf) pattern of ‘sashiko’ (ref. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sashiko), used for carrying offering rice to the temple or shrine, in Sendai, Miyagi region, Japan, Meiji-Taisho period, early 20th century, approx. 39 x 29cm (15.35 x 11.41in). Some stains and two holes due to aging as is as seen.
