STONE JIZO (Dealer: hotoke) – ‘Sekibutsu’ Japanese stone Buddhist image of standing ‘Jizo Bosatsu’ Bodhisattva in the ‘gassho’ praying pose. Edo period, 18-19th century.
Relaxing proportions with soften and mature contour and presence, slightly and impressively inclining head with such merciful facial expression. Rare aesthetic find. In natural antique condition as is, with expected aged deterioration and lichen.
