GOLD-PAINTED WOODEN STORE SIGNBOARD, SEI (Dealer: Sezuan antiques & art) – Single Chinese character of ‘Sei’ (Sho) which means “spirit”, “energy (vigor)”, “pureness” or etc. Probably a fragment of meat or rice shop’s signboard. Early Showa period, 20th century, Japan. Some cracks as seen. approx. W 41.5cm (16.33in), H 43cm (16.92in), T 3cm (1.18in)
