STONE JIZO BOSATSU (Dealer: misakadou) – ‘Sekibutsu’ (Stone Buddhist image) of ‘Jizo Bosatsu’ (Jizo Bodhisattva) from Kyoto/Osaka area in Japan. Kamakura-Muromachi period, 13-15th century.
Such profound medieval sekibutsu made of solid ‘mikageishi’ (granite) from the region is hardly found today so that highly valued. Confirmable kimono carving is the highlight.
