SUN GODDESS (Dealer: titcoRet) – Shinto idol (made of pottery or tile) of ‘Amaterasu Oomikami’ (The Sun Goddess) as the leading god of Japanese mythology, with the halo of sunbeam made of iron sticks. Showa period or earlier, 20th century, Japan. approx. H 15 x 9 x 4cm (5.90 x 3.54 x 1.57in). Some cracks as seen, but not immediately fatal defect.
