SUZUO (Dealer: hotoke) – Suzuo (lit. ‘Cord of bell’) as long hanging cloth rope installed above the offertory box at Japanese shrine/temple, for shaking to hit and ring the upper bell to wake up the gods in higher place to worship for one’s wish. Actually well-shaken by the many worshippers at a certain shrine/temple for long years dated back to the Edo period (or Meiji period at least) and in aesthetically well-worn condition due to aging as is with slight well-faded original tricolour. (With no bell as only suzuo itself). From the hanging-knot to tip: approx. 180cm (70.86in) / Total: approx. 274cm (107.87in).
