NOH MASK OF WOMAN (Dealer: hotoke) – Subtle and profound wood carving ‘Onna-men’ (lit. ‘Woman-mask’) by a skillful amateur sculptor with such a unique and curious sense of expression (details) that could be categorized into any type of female Noh mask or not at all anyhow. Showa period, 20th century, Japan. Some aged deterioration and peeling as seen. Attached with silk gut arranged by me as is. approx. 22 x 14 x 8.5cm (8.66 x 5.51 x 3.34in)
