THREE MASKS (Dealer: Sezuan antiques & art) – Wooden masks for covering a part of a face, probably used for dengaku dance or ‘ozashiki-asobi’ (playing games with geisha). White one is for covering a nose. Early Showa period, 20th century, Japan. Largest: approx. W 16cm (6.29in), H 13.2cm (5.19in)
