TIN SACRED LOTS (Dealer: rust + antiques) – Japanese ‘Omikuji’ (Box contained the fortune sticks (tablets) with number and oracle written on) shaking and flipping upside down to slip an inner stick out from the box, used at Shinto shrine or Buddhist temple for fortune-telling. But this one is unusually rare find made of tinware as completely in details besides wood and bamboo, dated back to the early 20th century. Box: H 11 x 5.7 x 5.7cm (4.33 x 2.24 x 2.24in), Tablet: 8.1 x 1.2cm (3.18 x 0.47in). Total 99 pieces. (as 16 ‘Excellent luck’, 5 ‘Little lucky’, 38 ‘Good luck’, 3 ‘Half luck’, 7 ‘Good luck in the future’, 1 ‘As usual’, 29 ‘Bad luck’) Aged deterioration as is, with some rust and faded words in Indian ink.
