HAKEME CHAWAN – Early Joseon dynasty Korean pottery tea bowl (Dealer: minakata antiques) –
15th – Late 15th century. Grey and white wild makeup by brush-stroke technique called ‘hakeme’ in the Japanese tea term, with floating redness in some parts as the laudable landscape of ‘wabi’. Besides, when you finish to drink tea with it, you can see another unique landscape of spirally hollowed ‘mikomi’ of inner center bottom part. Quite a powerful and classic wabi chawan as highly recommended. Practically fine antique condition, with two hairline cracks at the mouth-edge and a inborn kiln-crack at mikomi. No chips, no repaires. Attached with a wooden box.
approx. D 16.1 cm (6.33in), H 8 cm (3.14in)
