WOLF GOD (Dealer: hotoke) – Very unique and rare old votive clay doll of ‘Makami’ (lit. “Real God”) as the deification of Japanese wolf which is now extinct, traditionally worshipped as sacred beast, 19th century, Japan. In such naturally and aesthetically well-sooted condition, with some damage due to age as is as seen. Attached with an aged wooden box with slide door (but damaged) signed with the dedicator’s name.
