GORINTO (Dealer: hotoke) – Votive wood carving ‘Gorinto’ (Five-tiered stupa) of Esoteric Buddhism, with Sanskrit characters at all sides (also at removable base), composed of the five different forms of square, circle, triangle, semicircle, and ‘hoju’ (precious stone) that stands for earth, water, fire, wind, and void (as The Five Elements). Early-Mid 20th century, Japan. Total with base: approx. H 22cm (8.66in). Beautiful proportions with beautiful patina as is.
