ISE LOBSTER (Dealer: titcoRet) – Old Japanese folk wood carving Ise lobster (‘Ise-Ebi’) as a New Year’s decoration for good luck. Meiji period (1868-1912). It was decorated instead of eating, because too expensive to eat real Ise lobster for the ordinary people in Japan at that time. Its iron horns are removable. Expected some aged deterioration as is.
Total: approx. L 63cm (24.80in) (without horns: approx. L 29cm (11.41in))
