YOROBOSHI (Dealer: hotoke antiques) – Noh wood carving mask used for only one play, ‘Yoroboshi’ (Blind young boy who frequents the temple of Tennouji begging for alms), with the complex emotions of intense grief and spiritual deliverance. Showa period, 20th century, Japan. Gold-sign of ‘Yoroboshi’ at backside. Some expected stains and slight aged deterioration. approx. L 20.5cm (8.07in), W 13.6cm (5.35in), D 7.3cm (2.87in)
